Not bad. Ferrante likes to go the extra mile compared to his colleagues, he is one of the nicer directors from the Asylum clique. He goes all out in terms of effects and knows how to make some profit from that. Makes it a lot easier to digest than most of The Asylum titles. Still, it is not worth a damn as a film, it is the 'soaps' among the B-movies. You wonder why you are watching it, but you still go for it willingly.

Bought it on Blu-Ray for 2.99 and reviewed it. And you know what? I'll just add half a point. I really think it's a nice film. And for The Asylum it's really a top film. The acting is good, the atmosphere is good and there's quite a bit of delicious filth in it.

3.5*

Pulp director Anthony C. Ferrante comes up with a modern reworking of the well-known fairy tale, because this film is more or less set in the present day. Furthermore, not much is done to adopt some of the old charms, because the more imaginative sets look rather cheap and Dee Wallace does little to scare as the evil witch. It is because the makers dare to use practical violence and do not let this nonsense last longer than necessary that it is ultimately still watchable.
