"We'd like youse to meet Brother Orchid!"
Gangster boss Little John Sarto (Edward G. Robinson) is - after years of absence - beaten down by his former right-hand man Jack Buck (Humphrey Bogart). Little John seeks refuge in a monastery where he loses his sharp edges in favor of alter ego Broeder Orchidee. Unfortunately, he is boycotted as a flower seller.

As seen before, Bogart again plays the role of a backstabbing bad guy who wants to stab his old boss in the back.
Furthermore, a somewhat light-hearted gangster film with a sentimental story and message that money does not buy happiness.
Nicely told but of course not very believable, which does not mean that this film is not enjoyable.
