In the small town of Midyat, Xate, mother of eight children, lives with her husband, the mayor of Midyat. Xate can neither read nor write, but all her life she takes care of the household alone. Due to a minor incident, she herself unexpectedly becomes mayor of Midyat. Xate now has new responsibilities that go far beyond the limits of her previous commitments. Xate performs better than many had imagined and handles things quickly and well in order to also spend some time with her eight children.
