Propaganda plot
Turkey in 1948. Customs officer Mehdi has to draw a border between Syria and Turkey. Problem: The border divides his native village razor sharply into two parts. Suddenly the villagers find themselves in two different countries. Families, lovers, flocks of sheep, overnight they live in two different countries. The authorities in Ankara are formal: no one is allowed through. Not even Mehdi's best friend, Doctor Rahim. Slowly, Mehdi realizes the absurdity of the situation, especially when his own wife leaves with the Noorderzon.
