The Mule plot

"Trust no one"

A group of Mexican refugees, led by American humanitarian aid worker Aaron (Billy Zane), tries to illegally cross the border into the United States. In the desert they get into a firefight and Aaron is captured and held hostage. Aaron's sister Sofie (Sharon Stone) is a reporter for the Phoenix Daily in Arizona. When she calls Aaron, all she hears is a gunshot. She realizes that her brother is in danger and decides to investigate.
