Mirror Mirror plot
"The Snow White legend comes alive."
An evil sorceress (Roberts) lies and cheats to steal the throne from an orphaned girl (Lily Collins) and get the attention of the prince (Armie Hammer). When the beauty of the girl, Snow White, charms the prince, the queen banishes her to the forest, where a voracious beast waits hungrily... Snow White is rescued by a group of petty brigands and develops into an indomitable young woman with the determination to what has been taken back from her. With the help of her subjects, she battles the traitorous queen.

This is a movie Julia Roberts really didn't fit in. It must have been a dip in her career. Give me Julia Roberts in The Pelican Brief or as Erin Brockovich.

Certainly not a bad film adaptation of the good Snow White fairy tale. Where I Snow White and the Huntsman didn't exactly like it, I also don't think this is a very successful film. All the potential was there, the cast, the landscapes etc.
Collins is certainly not a bad actress, but does not exactly exude a Snow White. Roberts is always annoying, and here again. The story doesn't match the original cartoon and I think that's where the criticism lies.
Some scenes are nicely done, as well as portraying the snowy landscapes via sets. The songs are also a bit disappointing, but in general they are quite good. Too bad that the story deviates so much from the fairy tale, that came across as rather confused.
