Columbus Circle plot

"An apartment to die for."

Abigail Clayton lives alone. Very alone. In fact, the attractive heiress hasn't left her Manhattan loft for nearly two decades. On her 18th birthday, the day she received her gigantic inheritance, Abigail, daughter of a wealthy industrialist, has isolated herself from the prying eyes of the press and the meddling of her family. During all those years of self-imposed isolation, Abigail only interacts with two people: the janitor Klandermann and Dr. Raymond Fontaine, an old family friend. When her elderly neighbor dies, NYPD Detective Frank Giardello investigates, and Abigail gets on her nerves when he tries to interrogate her. In addition, in order to preserve her privacy, she tries to buy the now vacant apartment of the dead woman. In vain, however, as new tenants Lillian and Charlie move in. Worried, she spies on her new neighbors through the secure peephole in her front door, but her well-ordered world begins to crumble when she eventually encounters her neighbors in person and her closed-off existence is threatened in unexpected and terrifying ways.

surprisingly good mystery thriller. the film maintains the right atmosphere and tension throughout its entire length, which is an art in itself. Blair plays a starring role. in the beginning it seems as if the makers are throwing in their own (mysterious) windows by already clarifying 'too much', but this does not appear to be annoying for the sequel. there are a few interesting twists, keeping it constantly captivating.
the loose screws are in the behavior of the agent (too much personal way without delving into it), the implausibility of arranging money matters immediately after a murder and the ending in which Blair suddenly is outside. the ending isn't bad by the way, because the 'identity switch' is intelligent.
may not go into extreme depth, but it is certainly more than a thin snack.

I don't know much about George Gallo, but when I look at his credits on IMDb, he strikes me as a man who does his work as a screenwriter (with the biggest hits Midnight run and Bad boys[/ i]) used to gain credit (both artistically and commercially) for directing his own films. Unfortunately, those (now eight) films are never successes, and from [i]Columbus circle we can see why: a fairly intriguing premise (an anonymously living, "hiding" woman) the tie cut by a twist that I see coming for miles (first Lee and Smart rent that apartment when Blair wants it, then they argue in front of her door so that Blair brings Smart into the house, way too flashy ), so that in itself quite strong actors like Giovanni Ribisi, Kevin Pollak and Jason Lee end up swimming in a plot whose outcome you can soon predict. A waste of a good cast.

Buy these for a bargain and have a look now. I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was a good movie with some surprising twists. The acting was also good and the movie looked good. The story didn't bore me either and kept me interested for an hour and a half.

Maybe not a well-known movie, but it certainly didn't bore me.
