The Odd Life of Timothy Green plot

"He's a force of nature."

This story is about a couple who unfortunately cannot have children. They write their hopes and dreams on paper and put them in a box, which they bury in the backyard. In the middle of the night they suddenly find a mud-stained boy in their house, who calls them Mom and Dad. He is the answer to all their dreams. However, they have no idea of the magic he possesses and how it will forever change their view of love and everyone around them.

Sentimental fairy tale and a tearjerker at the end. For a production house like Disney, a formula like this is ideal to sell: get an almost perfect child that comes out of the vegetable garden like a godsend and with a high cuddly content, add two hopeless parents who can't have children and you are guaranteed to have a movie that will move. And it all works by placing the fairytale situation in a recognizable sketch of a simple village life. Edgerton and Garner, who both come across well here, are as sweet as the child itself as parents

Nothing big, even emotional manipulation but so sweet and cute that it is sometimes irresistible. Some may end up with tooth decay.

Average.

Incredibly sweet, very predictable, whipped and a reasonable playing time. Yet easy to handle. The film has a few moments that could have been left out, but on the other hand I was surprised at least once. Never thought that was going to make an own goal.

Jennifer Garner really doesn't have the talent, also a typical weeping face full of hysteria. I'm not really good with that. Joel Edgerton will also have wanted something different, I also prefer to see him in rawer roles.

Anyway visually slick and occasionally beautiful pictures. The music is definitely too sticky, but oh well. The only thing the director should not have had is that narrative structure, also dated in my opinion

Heavy sweet and exaggerated fairy tale. Moralism drips from it. In terms of fairytale magic, it has little to offer and wants to be moralistic rather than atmospheric. Heavy setback.
