Jackson County Jail plot

"The cops are there to protect her… but who will protect her from the cops?"

After an argument with an arrogant client, Dinah Hunter, a commercial producer in Los Angeles, finds her boyfriend in bed with another woman. That is enough. She gets in the car and heads for New York. That turns out not to be such a good idea: a couple giving her a lift beats her up and steals her car. And when she then knocks on the door of a restaurant for help, she is accused of prostitution, after which she ends up in prison.

Action film in which a woman experiences a true nightmare of violence.

A few suggestive scenes, quite a bit of tension and a fine acting Yvette Mimieux. In addition, some overacting from a few characters.

Finally, that was not immediately expected.

Socially critical film, with a feminist edge that opposes conservatism, patriotism and prejudice. It is striking that the film was produced by Roger Corman.

Yvette Mimieux plays very convincingly and the young Tommy Lee Jones also has a charismatic role here. The ending was impressive and fitting.

Above average.

Vintage 70s; yet another Tarantino source of inspiration. I like it.
A woman drives alone to New York to start a new life, but along the way she is robbed of her car, then her freedom and finally her panties, when a vicious night guard rapes her. She then becomes a fugitive and accused of police murder. The Smokey & the Bandit content is quite high with various car chases, but what I will remember most is the misogynistic content and the actually impossible story.
