Like many below me, I also found this all rather ordinary, nothing special and clearly lacking in suspense... and the basement moment was stupid, the rest just a forest game or something Nah, found it too mediocre to substandard. A 4/10 is fair game.

I think this is an underrated film.

I thought the acting was fine. The music and camerawork were above average. It was a good choice to regularly give the camera the protagonist's perspective: that way, you feel the tension of not knowing what is happening around you. Furthermore, it remained unclear for a long time who could and could not be trusted. There is a lot of criticism regarding 'stupid actions'. Well, the brain can no longer think when you are under that much stress, so doing stupid things is quite normal then, and is therefore well portrayed in the film. I found the 'stupid things' to be all very realistic, reasoning from the perspective of a stressed brain. Furthermore, I found the images of the Swedish forests very beautiful, and I felt that the film managed to avoid a number of clichés I was afraid of quite well. Of course, you cannot avoid repeating elements from other films, but if you judge a film harshly on that, you can ignore 90% of films.

Actually, I have very little criticism of the film. Okay, the basic theme (woman is kidnapped, locked in a basement, escapes, and is hunted down) isn't original. And I agree: sleeping in the middle of the road in the dark on a deserted road with flashing lights was not a smart move (and the filmmakers could easily have handled this differently). But aside from that, I actually found it to be a very strong film that I really enjoyed. For me, 3.5 - 4 stars.
