Sibir, Monamur plot
Siberia, late autumn. In Taiga, an abandoned village, the old man Ivan lives with his 7-year-old grandson Leshia. A pack of wild dogs devours everything that lives in this neighborhood. One of these dogs is Leshia's best friend. Their Uncle Yuri regularly brings some food to Ivan and Leshia. One day, however, Yuri is attacked by dogs and dies. Ivan and Leshia are left without food. When Leshia witnesses Ivan shooting 'his' dog, he runs away. The old man eventually finds him in a dry pit but fails to free Leshia. He decides to look for help in the village. On his way to Taiga he is hunted by the dogs. The boy is left alone in the well.
