The Cure plot

"The best cure for a disease is friendship."

The scum of the neighborhood Erik decides to make friends with Dexter, a boy who is shunned by everyone. Dexter contracted AIDS from a blood transfusion. Erik gets him out of his lonely valley, however. Dexter's mother is overjoyed at the friendship, unlike Erik's parents, who are afraid he will be infected. As Dexter's condition worsens, Erik is determined not to abandon his friend.
