El Diabolo is an evil bandit who has built a wagon in which is hidden the gold he stole from a regiment of soldiers. Two horse thieves, Franco and Ciccio, get their hands on the precious chariot, without realizing its value. Meanwhile, everyone thinks El Diabolo is dead and the two are mistaken for the gold thieves.
