Sam Lee is a young man of Chinese descent living in San Francisco. His father is one of the richest Chinese in China Town. In his outward appearance, Sam's Chinese ancestry is not clearly visible. Yet over the years, he encounters a lot of bigotry and prejudice from the white population. He travels incognito to Europe, in the hope that the people there will be more open-minded and tolerant. He meets the rich Alanna with whom he starts an affair, until she finds out that he is Chinese...
