Le Fate Ignoranti plot

Antonia and Massimo have been married for fifteen years; they live in a beautiful villa in a wealthy area of Rome and seem like the perfect couple, until Massimo is killed in a car accident. Antonia's life collapses; she stops working, hides from her friends and colleagues, and shuts herself in her own grief. Through one of Massimo's paintings, called Le Fate Ignoranti (Ignorant Fairies), Antonia discovers that Massimo has been in a secret love affair for the past seven years and that the secret lover is not a woman, but a market trader, Michele. After a first dramatic confrontation, Michele also appears to be surrounded by a circle of friends, who over the years have formed a secret family of Antonia's husband. Antonia is drawn to that alternate extended new family. And as Antonia and Michele get to know each other better, they discover that they share much more with each other than they did with Massimo in the past.
