"World-famed story of friendship and fury!"
Pythias, a liberal Athenian who claims that all men are brothers, is sentenced to death by Dionysos, the tyrant of Syracuse. The latter finds Pythias' ideas dangerous for his position of power. Dionysos grants Pythias his dying wish to return to Athens and visit his ailing wife one last time, but with the help of his friend Damon, Pythias then strikes back.
