Winning of the West plot
"The ace of the west in the chase of his life!"
Ranger Gene Autry is assigned to protect journalist John Randolph and printer Smiley Burnette from Art Selby and Clint Raybold. The latter two are at the head of a gang. Autry recognizes in one of the members of the gang his own brother, who operates under the name Jack Austin. The journalist Randolph is killed by Austin. Randolph's daughter thinks Autry is the culprit. Autry is able to convince Marshal Hackett that he is innocent and that he is capable of apprehending those responsible.
