A good film but one that disappointed me a bit.

Of course our main character has experienced some things, but I didn't find this disturbing or "over the top". As a viewer, I felt a kind of compassion for her.
Perhaps also because of the reasonably good portrayal of her character.
Nowhere did any of the characters in the film bother me, now, there were no average characters incorporated.

The story starts exciting and manages to keep this up until about a quarter. Then the film really collapses and it seemed (in my eyes) to take an eternity before it picked up some momentum again.
So I couldn't call it really maintained. The film tries to be unpredictable, but by focusing on Thomas, it would be too obvious that he is the killer....so I quickly settled on the gardener. Even after the reveal of the back room in the greenhouse, it was otherwise too obvious. .
It also frustrated me that I didn't know why Thomas also followed women and took pictures of them.
Scares are indeed very scarce in the film, and those that do exist are predictable, so they didn't scare me that much.
Excitement... well, what can I say about that. Let me put it this way, the film looks great and you are fascinated with what will happen, given that our main character has had a few things to choose from.
SFX look fine, the gore could have been a bit more for me. It was all pretty tame what they showed (or I'm just so spoiled/depraved)
Camera work is good and I thought the score fit the film well.
In short, there could have been more to this movie if they had put just a little more time and money into it. Now there is nothing left of it other than a "nice" film.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself and this film gets a 3.0 * from me

There were some beautiful images, locations and fragments in the film.

The movie started well and exciting.

As soon as she went back to the spiritual village it seemed to become quite a mystery, but this was not the case.

It could have been a bit more of a mystery, and also some more suspenseful elements in it.

the ending was a bit disappointing, especially the nonsensical part after the credits.

Nice binoculars, nothing more.

Think he's okay. Mix of What lies beneath, the hand that rocks the cradle, saw, hellraiser, nightmare on Elmstreet, the Others, Saw, Silence of the lambs. The makers have looked closely at this film. But the fact that the girl is deaf doesn't really add anything to the film.
