"From Hong Kong to Malaya...From Singapore to the Phillipines...The Chase Was On! The Stakes - A Fortune in Diamonds!"
Joe Gaines (Dewey Martin) is a poor American who hangs out in Southeast Asia doing nothing and drinking a lot. In a bar he meets his compatriot Jay Wickham (Jack Nicholson), a nihilist who earns a living from cards and gambling. After a fateful encounter with the beautiful fair Lai Ling, Gaines and Wickham leave the country on the next plane. A slick businessman tells of a mysterious treasure trove of diamonds in the Philippine jungle, but before the plane lands safely and securely, it crashes into the jungle and begins a quest for survival led by the power-hungry bandit leader Garuda.
