General Racellos controls the country through television and radio. Notices and propaganda are spread with an almost mechanical certainty. The real free spirits are those who work underground and fight for freedom. Hesus is one of them: he is a poet, a gunfighter and the leader of the masses. He bears the burden of guilt when he had to kill one of his comrades at the behest of the mysterious Miguel Reynante, who believes that the revolution should use the same fascist methods as the government.
