Scratch is 'the' film about the world of the Hip-Hop DJ. From the emergence of Hip-Hop, when the first DJs experimented with their own party records (which helped inspire break-dancing and rap), to today's 'scratching' and 'turntablism'. It's a film about DJs and producers who have radically changed the way we listen, play and compose music. Here are the world's best DJs, who are known for their 'solo scratching', participating in international 'DJ battles', spinning for rappers, or at parties, with the most amazing records and samples. The film features dynamic performances and interviews with DJ Qbert, Z-Trip, Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys), Rob Swift and the Executioners, Cut Chemist & NuMark (Jurassic 5), DJ Craze, DJ Shadow, The Bullet Proof Space Travelers , Babu (Dilated Peoples), DJ Krush, DJ Premier, (Gangstarr) and others like the 'old school' pioneers like Afrika Bambaataa and Grand Wizard Theodore.
