Set up for my daughter but in the end she was playing and I just watched it. Secretly I thought it was just a little too exciting to turn him off. It is indicated that the film is for 9 years and older, but I think it is more suitable for older children. I think from about 12 years old. Especially the scene in which the neighbor shoots that man in a suit I find too exciting for 9 year old children. Luckily my daughter was already tired by then.

I thought the acting was decent. They are still children, so you can't expect them to be able to convey a super tension or high-quality drama. And Daan Schuurmans was not too bad for me. Although he would have liked something tougher or more mysterious since he still dared to work with the police to roll up a criminal organization. He didn't seem convincing enough for that.

Other than that, it's a great movie. This is especially suitable for older children who are going to watch a thriller-like film for the first time. And as a parent, I watched it completely.

I didn't think it was a bad movie, even for adults. It was a good story that kept me interested. The cast did a great job and it still looked good, especially for a youth film.

I certainly didn't regret it and thought it was worth checking out.

Quite a low rating here on MM for this youth film from Dutch soil. I must honestly say that I am just amazed at the (high) level of Dutch youth films of today. This is the third I see after Secrets of War and Eighth-Groupers Don't Cry, and they have all positively surprised me. Briefsecret is not inferior to adult films in terms of tension and screenplay. The acting is also excellent. Great youth film. 3.5*
