Vague film where nothing becomes clear about how it all fits together.

It could have been better if they had paid more attention to certain matters.

The acting wasn't great either.

Despite the mostly negative reviews, I actually didn't think this was such a bad movie.

While the acting may not be top-notch, it certainly creates a certain atmosphere that contains enough mystery to keep you captivated. Incidentally, it is strange that some consider this a too vague film, considering it is all quite clear and logical. Even if you missed the scene warning of impending doom, it quickly becomes clear even without it that Silka the Siren lures men to her, drives them mad, and then kills them. So for that reason, you certainly don't need to pass up this film.

Fairly predictable and mediocre acting, so certainly not a high-quality film, but definitely worth watching (also because of the female beauty).

3*

Sirens are demigoddesses often found in watery environments, where they lure men in vessels with heavenly singing. These men then become so enraptured that their vessels are smashed against the rocks. A fun premise for a horror film. Siren makes an attempt with a story about three friends who are shipwrecked and stranded on an island where a young woman suddenly appears. Up until the moment the three arrive at the island, Siren was already a dull ordeal. After arriving on the island, that does not change.

The stereotypically portrayed empty-headed characters find themselves on the island, meet the unknown young woman, and walk back and forth across the island. Occasionally, the young woman bursts into horrible singing, which inexplicably deeply affects the three characters. Nothing else happens that is worth mentioning. The film, which is far too long with a running time of 76 minutes, offers nothing but boredom.

There is absolutely no question of horror in the traditional sense. There is a different kind of horror at play. It is terrifying how predictable, meaningless, and boring the film is. Despite the fun premise, Siren offers nothing but listlessness, and watching the film is sleep-inducing. Afterwards, only an image of two naked women walking into the sea stayed with me. A beautiful picture that, like the rest of the film, is meaningless, but unlike the rest of the film, is strikingly beautiful. That one memorable scene says a lot about the emptiness in Siren.
