"What doesn't kill you... is going to marry your brother."

Once she arrives at her brother's place, she is faced with many surprises, just like her mother, who also meets a former 'rival'.

A neat movie in itself. Unfortunately, the acting wasn't always the best. Especially Joanna, the brother and the father were really below par. Kristen Bell was fun to watch, but it was still pretty mediocre.

I found the subject itself refreshing. I had never seen a story like this in a movie, so that was nice. Some things I found a bit over the top. The storyline of the mother who also encounters her rival and in the end even grandma was a bit too much for me.

The movie looked good, but I don't think it's a high-flyer.

A reasonable comedy, which is still doable, thanks to the experienced cast, although it is sometimes a bit unbelievable.

It's all very predictable what happens, but Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver play well, although their characters are not exactly surprising and it all remains quite superficial. I also found the development of bride Joanna a pity and not credible at all. Although the pace is high, there are still a lot of jokes that are not too successful. There are also some nice moments, where the speech of Joanna's ex-boyfriend the night before the wedding, is a funny highlight of this comedy. The best part is played by grandma Betty White, who provides the whole with a nice ending.

Visually, it also looks surprisingly good. Beautiful fresh colours, and especially the original credits may also be mentioned. A number of positive things, but also a number of negative things, ensure that this comedy ends up being fairly average in terms of score. It is mainly a typical women's film, predictable from beginning to end, but in itself it is all still good to sit.

2.5*

Many users here seem to be very enthusiastic about Kristen Bell; since I don't remember her at all from the single film that I appear to have seen of her, she was completely new to me in You again, but her role in this film is by no means an incentive to to see her. I really couldn't laugh at her, sympathize with her or find her sympathetic, but that could of course also be the scriptwriter's fault, since that goes for all the characters in this misfire, even though two of the lead roles are also played by two favorite actresses. No, I can't think of anything positive about this movie, not to mention the attempt to turn some pretty serious high school bullying into a comedy. Oh wait, Odette Annable/Yustman is balm for my eyes, and it's nice to see Weaver and Curtis triumph in the pool where Bell and A./Y. hopeless failure at the open fridge (I was only thinking: close the door, guys, that all costs electricity!), so I take something of comfort from that. Other than that, however, this is horrific shit.
