Not your 13 in a dozen thriller. Wonderfully lighthearted, great story, great twists and above all, great acting. Not much negative to report, except that it doesn't really excel at anything.

All in all a big 3*.

Mme.

Not a bad thriller, with a fairly unique premise, but not a high-quality film either. In the end it left a somewhat unsatisfactory taste. You think when you look at the poster that things are going to turn out a little faster and harder.

In any case, the acting is appropriate. Pierce is having a lot of fun, but that's why he's also having fun. Crawford also manages to hold his own in the lead role. Together they form a nice duo who manage to justify the playing time, but they will not really win prizes.

The story is a bit slow and the pace doesn't really cooperate either, so it regularly drops to a dead end. The denouement and twists come a little too slow, giving the viewer too much time to guess them, and when they come it doesn't really want to be fun or hilarious. You hope for some more fireworks.

Visually also quite boring with a moderate build-up of tension. Many scenes are too tame and too normally directed. The acting obscures a lot, but Pierce and Crawford can't bear the film together enough. The sometimes dark twists and strange scenes can't help that either, unfortunately.

In the end it doesn't take too long, but with such a starting point, it is allowed to step on the accelerator more. Now you're looking at a tame thriller that has nice scenes, but still doesn't fulfill its potential. For example, The Perfect Host lingers in a "nice to see once, but I forgot about it" thriller. It's a shame, but luckily it can be done.

A bank robber on the run is looking for shelter. With an excuse he manages to talk himself into someone's house. But that host turns out to have other plans for his unexpected guest. It is a surprising film with a surprising story, where you remain fascinated throughout the film to see how this will end.

In the end, unfortunately, the story turns out to be a bit too unbelievable and very far-fetched. But it was a fun movie to watch.
