Well on my way to discover MCKenzie movies... after he surprised me with Starred Up and Hell or High Water. What has he served here?

An apocalyptic theme... At first I thought it would be limited. We are in a world where emotions and senses have taken over...to the point where humanity has lost control of them. Mmm... very interesting. What we get next is an observation from the lives of Michael and his wife Susan... the daily activities, the work... all while battling the emotions that unexpectedly and unwittingly grip them. Is it a virus? Is it an epidemic? A sarcastic attitude from McKenzie? Who's to say...

And you could say that Perfect Sense is going to be a boring sequence of home-garden-and-kitchen scenes, but it really isn't. The film manages to remain fascinating and even gets stronger by the moment.... Yes... towards the end you can really speak of a real apocalyptic science fiction film... but in a completely different jacket.

No, this was a very strong, atmospheric psychological piece. It also takes some getting used to to see a completely different role of Ewan. The man looks like a chameleon to some characters. More from McKenzie please!

It is very special to see this film from 2011 now while we are in the corona time. A mysterious phenomenon or possibly a virus spreading around the world is causing people to lose their senses one by one. It starts with smell and then taste and it goes on and on. People also wear face masks because they think they can't get infected. It is certainly a special film and there are also very beautiful and special scenes in it. A love line also runs parallel through the film so that it is not all doom. Although it is a special fact that is very suitable for a film, in the end the film does not go deep enough and it also becomes a predictable story, while you still expect a certain twist or new layer. But unfortunately it won't come. In the end, everyone became Tommy (1975). So off to the pinball machine.
