Beautiful biopic about Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who develops a more humane and efficient way of dealing with beef cattle. The film is especially successful in visualizing the way the main character thinks. A fascinating story about a special woman who knows how to move here and there without becoming sentimental. Claire Danes is excellent in the title role.

Nice story and an entertaining biopic. The story is interesting, didn't find it believable somehow, but it seems to have been true, cuddly machine included. Because of the truthful I tend to the 3*, what disappointed me were the imo kitschy visual interpretations of autism, although I see that others could appreciate it. In itself, it has unintentionally also become interesting material about the operation of slaughterhouses. After seeing the film, I do have my doubts about whether autism is really realistically conveyed here, if it is, then it lacks a bit more convincing power as far as I'm concerned. A meager 3* from me.

Temple Grandin is a biographical film about the life of the eponymous Grandin who has autism. It is a powerful film about autism. Not a typical "Rain man" film, although I would have imagined it more subtle given the rave reviews.

Still, this is a special film. Not sentimental, but it does take some getting used to the character. Excellent role by Claire Danes who knows how to portray her character well. Good translation of what autism means and what it does to an individual. Overstimulation (and under-)stimulation of the senses often leads to fears and panic. Amazing how the visual was shown through Grandin's eyes through drawings or other representations from her mind.

A film that pays attention to the person with autism who struggles with social interaction with others, but at the same time also pays attention to the pluses. Not the absolute top or reference I expected, but certainly more than decent. Narrowly 4.0*.

For a really good neutral image about autism, I continue to recommend the series Atypical - Season 1 (2017) (without the bullshit around it though.
