Blue Belgium plot

The seedy sexually obsessed Victor has to shake Belgium to its foundations. To do this, he enlists the help of the filthy trafficker Phil and the clumsy Weinstein, who mainly targets girls in their 20s. With Blue Belgium, director Rob Van Eyck tries to explain what has gone wrong with everything in the last 20 years. Belgium, from 'De Bende van Nijvel' over the 'Pink Ballets' to 'De Zaak Dutroux'.

Ridiculous idea to use Flemish actors (actors...) and have the entire film in English. No idea where the BEF 10 million budget went. The actors are inexperienced and certainly did not cost too much. The screenwriter was clearly not there and outside of a farm, cafe and dance hall there is not much variety in the film. It's a shame that the important dark pages of recent years are being filmed in this way. A film for the night of bad taste.

Still one of the weakest Belgian films I've seen in years. Not very coherent and rather amateurishly put together. I don't know what the budget was for the film, but it must have been small.

A cast of noble unknowns, except for Saartje Vandendriessche, but you can hardly call that an actress. Strange indeed that English language, it fits like a pair of pliers to a pig with that "Flemish" decor.

A film that tries to create a common thread around a number of sensational Belgian events, but actually fails miserably. There may be an idea behind the script, but there is a lack of professional guidance.
