The House of the Seven Gables plot
"AN ANCIENT HOUSE! A MURDER SECRET! A HIDDEN TREASURE!"
The year is 1828. The bankrupt Pyncheon family battles over the Seven Gables, their ancestors' mansion. After the death of his patriarchal father, Jaffrey Pyncheon falsely accuses his brother Clifford of murdering the house. Hepzibah, Clifford's faithful fiancée, turns out to be the first heiress according to the will. Hepzibah evicts Jaffrey Pyncheon and patiently waits twenty years for Clifford's release. Clifford and his former cellmate Matthew Maule, meanwhile, have certain plans for the house and the hated Jaffrey Pyncheon.
