Woman of the North Country plot
"THE MAN OF IRON AND THE BELLE OF DULUTH!"
1890, Minnesota. Christine Powell heads the largest mining company in the area, but revenues have been declining lately. The Mesabi area seems to have a greater wealth of resources, but young Kyle Ramlo owns the rights to the mines. Ramlo is at an impasse as he needs money to experiment with a new way of extracting the resources. He decides to ask Christine Powell for financial help. She is of course interested in his idea, but she is also interested in him. She devises a plan to get hold of the rights to the mines. Ramlo falls for it with eyes wide open, while Cathy Norlund desperately tries to make him see that he is trapped.
