Sweetgrass plot
In the summer of 2003, a group of herders took one last trip with a flock of sheep through the Beartooth Mountains in Montana, in the far northwestern United States. A journey of almost three hundred kilometers, through vast green valleys, past snowfields and over dangerously narrow ridges. A journey full of challenges. The aging herders do their utmost to keep the hundreds of sheep together, and the panoramic high mountains are suffocating with hungry wolves and grizzlies.
