In terms of art, this is undoubtedly of a high level. Visual fringes, with a lot of attention to camera angles and angles. With a soundtrack that goes completely into the images. And with an enchanting Tilda Swinton - through her acting, and through the way she is portrayed: one moment an impressive, imposing and eye-catching lady, the next a mourning wreck.
But what good is the eye and the ear, if the story cannot captivate?
I didn't get involved in this at all, couldn't empathize for a moment, wasn't completely absorbed in the atmosphere that such a film should radiate. The feeling of being pulled into the TV screen, and being absorbed into the scenes, and looking forward to what's coming, that feeling never came.
I'm drowsy thinking about the title of a movie; the story is set in an auditorium or banquet hall, with many costumed people, and somewhere after halfway there is a murder and the culprit is sought among those present; a film that scores quite high on MM here: a totally different plot, but this Io Sono L'Amore somehow evokes memories of that. If you don't get 'in' it, it becomes a long sit, where you breathe a sigh of relief at 'The End'.

As far as you can compare, it is a pity that the film La Meglio Gioventù is more popular than this Io Sono l'Amore. Io Sono L'Amore takes her time, the director sometimes pauses to capture a shot nicely, and creates the necessary atmosphere. Nowhere does it get really high, but it continues to be enjoyable. I like this pace. Tilda Swinton shows that she is one of the best actresses of the 21st century. The film itself takes us back to the heyday of Italian cinema. Not that it has to compete with the grandmasters, but it is still a pleasant nostalgic ode.

This really is one of those slow-motion movies. I even thought it wasn't my thing for about half an hour, but then it started to unfold and became a pearl. Tilda Swinton plays her part (again) phenomenal, I also really like the others and once I got into the story, it dragged me along. So beautiful, moving, artistic and romantic, in addition to all the drama. I find the music appropriate and it enhances the emotions and the events. Impressive artwork! 4*
