Xilu Xiang plot
The Chinese takeover of Hong Kong has consequences for everyone, including Cheung, a nine-year-old boy. When Cheung is not in school, he works for his father and because his parents are always working, Cheung spends a lot of time with his grandmother and Ami, the Filipino maid. In the city he meets Fan, a nine-year-old girl with whom he befriends. Against his will, Cheung has to grow up quickly.
