Manatsu no Orion plot
Izumi (Keiko Kitagawa), a young woman from a drizzly coastal town receives a letter from the United States. This one was written by a woman whose grandfather was commander of a battleship during World War II. His ship fought a battle 64 years earlier with a Japanese submarine commanded by Kuramoto (Hiroshi Tamaki). Izumi wants to know more about the battle and the main characters in it. She goes to investigate.
