The Last Train plot

One morning, a group of random people board a train that runs from London to Sheffield. But one person on board knows that something terrible is in store for humanity soon. It concerns the scientist Harriet Ambrose, who works for the Ministry of the Interior. She is on her way to a secret government base called 'ARK', which is located in Scotland. In her bag, Harriet has a special cylinder containing cryogenic gas. As the train enters a tunnel, Earth is hit by a huge meteorite. The tunnel collapses and the train is buried under rubble. During the disaster, the gas escapes from the cylinder and everyone in the car is frozen. Years later, the group wakes up from their cold sleep. With great difficulty they manage to climb out of the train wreck and when they are finally out of the tunnel, they are in for a surprise. The earth as they knew no longer exists, the planet has changed into a desolate landscape. Large cities have fallen into ruins and are inhabited only by wild dogs. The survivors are shocked, they can hardly believe what Harriet is telling them: the civilized world no longer exists and everything has been swept away by the meteorite. Are they the only survivors? how long were they frozen? To answer all questions, they set out together in search of ARK in the Scottish highlands...
