Good to do. It all feels quite realistic and the landscape images and music create a desolate atmosphere. Henry is still the character that most appeals to the imagination.

Typically such a film that tries to drag the viewer along with minimal means and thus makes full claim on your empathy, as Ralf81 says. Fortunately, that works well here, albeit that some parts are just too elongated. However, it bounces back at the end.

I do miss the effects of wandering around for days in the bloody heat on, for example, perception, especially given that they have virtually nothing to eat and drink. They could have done more with that. A number of incidents are also quite strange (be back in no time with the knife, barely go looking for food and some of that sort of thing).

But come on, it's not a Bear Grylls being released either. Still think it's a lot more sincere than Frozen (but less realistic than the low-rated Open Water).

Friendly. Every now and then very illogical actions/dialogues and that brings the film down quite a bit. 5.5/10*

Did you feel like a survival movie again, so why not set up a movie that takes place in a stunning location? So the Grand Canyon. I've been there myself, so I know how beautiful the area is. So the images didn't surprise me, although I've never walked down like in this movie. I believe that took two days and big money...

Nick and Lori decide to do it, of course accompanied by a shady guide. Of course it starts sweet and fun, but things don't go as planned. No transport, no water and no food. A hopeless prospect and when night falls it all becomes even more dangerous.

Although I love Strahovski, I had little connection with her character. That actually applies to the entire cast. There was little chemistry between Nick and Lori and the dialogues were pretty silly at times. Long-winded film in general and the journey never wants to be really exciting. The wolves made up for it, although I found it all a bit more convincing in fellow survival film Frozen.

The ending is okay, but not entirely satisfying. Too bad about the sweet 'till death do us part' scene that is shown in between and a bit illogical that the helicopter happens to arrive at the right place at that moment and that they both have three or survived four days without water in the desert. Nice location, a nice Strahovski, but otherwise a film in which too little spectacular happens.
