When the infamous villain Megamind accidentally kills his arch-rival Metro Man, he loses the meaning of life. All his life he was after his enemy and the enemy after him. Well, maybe we are a bit too spoiled in the world of animated films, but after reading the reviews I went a bit negative.
But totally surprised in a positive way! The humor was nice, it's not a 'children's movie' but a funny animation with a predictable story, certainly not like the one above.

What boundless energy there is in this film! Animation is top notch and with such a superhero atmosphere, everything is pulled out to make this a spectacle with all kinds of liked developments. In the super-villain animation genre, I think Despicable Me is slightly better, but Megamind can be there too.

Fairly.
Nothing new under the sun, but Megamind is just a smooth looker. Ideal as an in between, with a story that is introduced quickly and unfolds just as quickly. The obligatory drama number can hardly get the momentum out of it either. Other than that, it's all just decent, not high-quality. The only real shortcoming is the voice role of Jonah Hill, who does a lot less than, for example, Will Ferrell or the inconspicuous Tina Fey.
