Another better Boo, was also allowed after the torture that was Offscreen.

Although it is a lot more conventional, plot-wise mainly. You could even call it a bit trite, the whole mindfuck thing in which fiction and reality collide. Worked out pertinently better in Reconstruction.

This film must therefore mainly rely on its visual powerhouse. Beautifully filmed, striking how he always diligently deals with the most amazing lighting. A real virtuoso in that field, that much is clear after having seen four of the man's films. Albinus's performance is also solid. Fortunately, a lot less annoying than a provoking Bro from Offscreen, and much less boring than that lame billiard ball from Allegro. He just can't match the Bonnevie/Kaas caliber.

More disappointing, however, is the soundtrack; where Boe normally gives a lot of atmosphere and mysticism through music, the soundtrack here largely sounded more like something you find in such a Friday night RTL thrill. Except perhaps for a few rare moments, such as when piano music entered.

But definitely worth it, if only because of the beautiful cinematography. For now a small 3.5 *, but I foresee that this may be a grower.

Setback. You can usually wake me up in the middle of the night for a job from Denmark, but this one just isn't it.

Thriller that has a long build-up, and therefore remains long, vague and unremarkable. The last half hour there is finally some more momentum and tension in the occasionally difficult to follow story, but they finally go wrong at the end by trying to give it an artistic touch. Something that doesn't fit and certainly doesn't add anything to this film.

What also doesn't help, by the way, is that the male protagonist is a cowardly, selfish, clumsy jerk. The fact that he also becomes paranoia later in the story does nothing to you as a viewer.

So better next time.

In itself an exciting film about a man who accidentally discovers a state secret. The film is captivating and well acted. But there are gaps in the script that raise all kinds of questions and also make the film quite unbelievable. The script makes a muddled and chaotic impression anyway, which gives me the strong feeling that I have to keep my head up to be able to follow the film. There are also people you have at that moment; who is this and what is his role? And for some people it stays that way. And then towards the end we suddenly go back six months in time for no apparent reason and the film is suddenly over before you know it and I don't understand it at all. I'm really left perplexed. Is it just me or is it the movie? I blame the movie.
