Born as a god, but raised as a human, Perseus (Sam Worthington) helplessly tries to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), the vengeful god of the underworld. It is fun to encounter a lot of creatures and gods from Greek mythology, but otherwise this is a very mediocre film. The film is too soon in the action and we get a main character that we don't get to know and a very drab interpretation of Worthington. For example, the film failed to captivate me for a moment, with the fact that this is a film that goes from scene to scene and you as a viewer can never get further involved. The individual scenes are nice at times, but the whole is filmed dull and gray. 1.5*.

The reign of the Titans came to an end when brothers Zeus [Liam Neeson], Poseidon [Danny Huston] and Hades [Ralph Fiennes] took power. Fishermen Spyros [Pete Postlethwaite] and Marmara [Elizabeth McGovern] find Perseus [Sam Worthington] floating in a basket at sea and raise him as their own son, unaware that he is the son of Zeus and (thus) a Demigod. When the humans turn against their ancient Gods, Hades [Ralph Fiennes] threatens to unleash The Kraken on humans unless they are willing to sacrifice Princess Andromeda [Alexa Davalos]. Perseus to the rescue in this mishmash of mythological figures and stories is worth the effort thanks to some impressive action scenes with still impressive special effects with the confrontation with Medusa [Natalia Vodianova] as the absolute highlight.
