Not a bad movie, but not a really good movie either. I was able to watch it, but that was more because I was with friends. A 3's

Movie that I once fished out of the 1 euro box and of which I once saw the first half and then forgot to watch it. So last night I watched it all over again.

Oh it's not bad. The duo is doing very well. Nice acting by the slightly younger Nicolas Cage and Samuel L. Jackson. The problem is that the story doesn't always stay interesting and sometimes even gets boring. The jokes are funny at times and I think I actually laughed out loud once or twice, one of which I think is with the psychiatrist calling the house where no one is and the clip where Andrew sends the bloodhounds to the police.[ /spoiler] Other than that, it's not much. It's all a bit predictable and well-behaved. I didn't really like the family (the husband and wife being held hostage by Cage) either. But some nice scenes and good acting save it on a very tightrope:

I didn't think there was much to laugh about for a comedy.

Two top actors who were caught in a very mediocre story without highlights and therefore could never excel. Very sad though. Quickly forget.
