Damaged plot

The handsome, young and wealthy Taran Hathaway buys a house and has Sam Luck and his wife Kate as neighbors. Sam is also her new English teacher. The two develop a close friendship and Taran gives Sam some expensive gifts. Suddenly, Sam is accused of sexual harassment at school and fired. Untrusting the bond between her husband and Taran, Kate investigates.

What a monstrosity of a movie. It's just that Merritt Patterson still has some charisma for me and makes something of it, because otherwise this predictable muck is really too cringeworthy to watch. From Chris Klein's dismal acting to the completely predictable ending, there's little to like about the film. Visually also very weak and you clearly notice that the makers are not very competent. The only positive splurge is that the woman is killed, which is somewhat daring. That's really the only thing left in the movie. This feels like a third-rate version of Arlington Road. Where the film is well put together and contains a lot of tension, here you are watching a completely uninspired affair. So people who are hesitant to watch this one? Just turn up Arlington Road (one more time).
