The problem is that the book is damaged by one of those students. They contact Noah Levenstein (Eugene Levy), who, along with the boys, tries to get the stories in the Bible back.

Disappointing film about a couple of teenagers who do everything they can to lose their virginity. The umpteenth American Pie film in which any form of originality is now hard to find. Some jokes are more tacky than really funny. The cast tries to make the best of it, but you can't really call it acting.

The latest spin-off and also by far the least. Three completely uninteresting main characters, story really offers nothing new, little chemistry with the girls (who also lack a certain personality) and an extremely annoying Stifler. Poorly acted, visually nothing special, and Levy can't make it either. Very occasionally some nice music and towards the end it gets a bit more, until that cgi-Eland that doesn't look right. Then it stops. 1.0*.

The least cake.

The series has never been very high-quality but Beta House suddenly landed on a sufficient level so I had hoped for some fun with The Book of Love . 1 of the two pies with 16+ so that usually means that the jokes are a bit more brutal, which was good in Beta House. But here it misses the mark.

The Book of Love does start in its typical American Pie way. Not the apple pie, but a sandwich. It still provides a remarkable opening and that sets the tone a bit. But what we get next are mainly jokes that follow each other in rapid succession but are never funny.

It does not help that the jokes are a lot less out of the corner. The entire hour seems to be almost a sequence of random bits of film stuck together with weak glue. It makes absolutely no sense. That is known by the series, but there was still a certain line in it in the end. It stays out here.

Acting is also a lot worse in general. Jordan is certainly a sad Stifler. Normally every Stifler has a certain look, but it never works for him. He looks more like a loser than a sexually frustrated culprit anyway.

The acting is also not very high. Levy remains too good for the American Pie series, although he is mainly a cameo here. The three musketeers in the lead are still doing well, and when a thread slowly starts to develop in the story in the finale, the film starts to get on its feet.

But the first hour is mostly chaos, which even gave me a regular amateurish impression of the film. From a director who didn't really know what to do with the script and who may have followed him too literally. The least Pie of all anyway.
