"They Can't Kiss Away Their Conscience"
British insurance inspector Oliver Bramwell arrives at Lewis Manor to investigate a fire that broke out on Christmas Eve. After ringing the bell, Oliver is surprised to be confronted by the American Sarah Moreton, his old flame from Hong Kong. One day the attractive redhead Sarah disappeared from his life there, for no apparent reason. Oliver's and Sarah's love blossoms again and when Sarah's husband Tracey Moreton dies in a second fire, the two are back together. Still, Oliver suspects that Sarah misled him and that she killed Tracey for other reasons. When his suspicions are not confirmed, Oliver marries Sarah. But then not long after, the happy couple is confronted by a blackmailer.
