My Queen Karo plot
"A young girl witnesses the moral dilemmas of free love when her parents join a squatter community in 1970s Amsterdam."
Amsterdam, the seventies. Between all kinds of adults, little Karo lives her own life in a large squat. Karo lives without a care, until her mother Dalia has a hard time with the girlfriend of her anarchist friend -and Karo's father- Raven. The conflict seems to escalate when the group of adults - and therefore also Karo - seems to be evicted from the squat.

Beautiful atmospheric image of a commune in the 1970s. The nakedness may disturb some people, but that was just part of it then... A gem for me

It is in such circumstances that Karo grows up, a world with love indeed, but also one without security and security. Very fine atmospheric images of the 1970s, the ideals of thought and life in Amsterdam. Beautiful acting too, with Anna Franziska Jaeger in particular. Quite pleasant and entertaining, but it lacks just that little bit more. Finally, we also enjoyed the touching hedgehog Iglo.
