"Her Loneliness... His Hunger... so vulnerable... so violent... it could only be lived moment to moment!"
Kay Stanton is a lonely housewife whose husband is constantly away to speak at psychiatrists' meetings. While on vacation on the French Riviera, Kay falls in love with naval officer Mark Dominic. Tragedy happens when Kay accidentally kills Dominic. She enlists the help of her neighbor, with whom she moves the corpse and makes an anonymous phone call to the police. When the police arrive, they find that the body has disappeared.

If I'm not mistaken, the first film in which Jean Seberg appears in color, and what a sparkling Technicolor it is right from the start. Just like it was back then, with oversaturated red, and that suits the dress she's wearing beautifully, which brightens her blonde hair so nicely. All quite irrelevant to her acting performance, of course, and although that is just about perfect, the film makes very limited use of it.
It is a funny snapshot of life in Provence, albeit through an American lens and very superficial. Consequently, the plot is quite dull, and without Seberg in one of the lead roles, the film would have been forgotten long ago. A waste of all the effort put into making it, and equally a waste to watch it now, really. Only remotely interesting for those who consider themselves fans of Seberg. Oh well, there are worse things, and you're not harming anyone by doing so.
