"First Football Murder Mystery!"
Wally Clark, star player of the 'State' soccer team, falls dead during a match between the 'State' and 'University' teams just before scoring an important goal. Nearly 70,000 spectators see this happening. Buck Buchanan was nearby and he is immediately the prime suspect for Police Inspector Dan McKenna. Buck's brother Slip is an illegal gambler who would take $350,000 if University won. Before the match, he ordered Buck to poison Wally. Did Buck indeed succumb to Slip's pressure to poison Wally? Driven journalist Johnny Moran and Wally's sister Dorothy try to prove Buck's innocence.
