Master Gao teaches Shuiquan Elementary School, but takes a month's vacation to care for his sick mother. Wei Minzhi is appointed by the mayor as a deputy for Gao, who protests the appointment because Minzhi is only 13 years old. However, no one else wants to take on the task. Since 12 students have dropped out since the start of the school year, Minzhi has to do everything possible not to lose a few more students. Gao promises her a bounty if she succeeds. When the highly intelligent Zhang Huike suddenly doesn't show up for school anymore, Wei Minzhi decides to look for him.
