The Gospel of Caesar plot
The Italian linguist, philosopher and writer Francesco Carotta published the book 'Was Jesus Caesar?' in 2002. In it he explains very precisely his theory that the texts about Jesus Christ are based on the life of Julius Caesar. He argues, with predominantly linguistic arguments, that the sources describing the life of Julius Caesar show strong similarities with the Gospel of Mark, among others. Carotta found so many similarities that, according to him, one can no longer speak of coincidence. Carotta's book caused a lot of commotion, but it quickly fell into obscurity. However, not for Jan van Friesland who made a documentary about the search of Carotta and his followers. He follows Carotta during his research in various countries and hears remarkable stories.
