Out at the Wedding plot
Have you ever had an identity crisis? Do you also tell a white lie here and there? Well, Alex Houston can do it like no other, without batting an eyelid. After telling her fiancé, Dana, that her entire family is dead, Manhattan-born Alex heads to her hometown of South Carolina to be a bridesmaid at her estranged sister Jeannie's wedding. While she tries not to draw attention to herself, stating that a) she's engaged, and b) her fiancé is a Jewish African-American, things are getting a little out of hand. First, Alex's best friend Jonathan, with his sharp and malicious talk, launches the rumor that Alex is a lesbian and that Dana is actually a woman. But when her family actually responds positively to this message, Alex decides to go along with it. After all, that's easier than telling the truth, isn't it? But when Alex and Jonathan hire the sexy lesbian Risa to play the much-talked-about fiancée during Jeannie's visit, things really get out of hand.
