Cadillac Records plot

When Jewish club owner Leonard Chess and newly arrived plantation worker and musical talent Muddy Waters, who have just arrived in Chicago, decide to join forces, it is the start of the legendary blues label Chess Records. In the continuation of the 1940s and 1950s, they turned the blues into a popular music movement that even became cross-racial with the arrival of artists such as Howlin' Wolf, Chuck Berry and Etta James. Unfortunately, the success is also accompanied by the necessary internal struggles such as drugs, alcohol and adultery.

Sorry, missed opportunity.

Not really an accurate representation of history.

Little Walter shooting someone in the head??

Let's hope Martin Scorsese gets his teeth into it one day.

Highlight was Beyonce's performance of Rather Go Blind.

Far too much historical information for far too short a playing time, but the brilliant music makes up for it, and it's always nice to see all those legends come to life. The best moments were those with my idol Howlin' Wolf, played very strongly by Eamonn Walker, who here manages to combine great dignity with a chilling latent threat. In short, I enjoyed watching this film, and maybe a few younger music lovers will be encouraged to go and listen to the original recordings...

The blues, Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and the beautiful evergreen "At last" are well known to me, but I am not an expert on the subject and there is no knowledge of this event, so that the film only strikes me as the classic story of the successful creation of a musical combination and its disappointment, with in between the ups and the downs, the love relationships, the fidelity and the infidelity, the friendship, the feuds....
What has lingered are the accents on racism that are massively present, with the exception that fame and success transcends racial distinctions ( the sensation-hungry white girls who feel ready for anything with the black stars, the mass hysteria on stage, despite the cops carrying out their mission : separating blacks from whites.
